Overview

In the British West Indies, Providenciales, or more commonly known as "Provo", covers an area of 38 miles and is the most developed island in Turks and Caicos.  The island is a British Crown Colony located about 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas and to the east of Cuba.  Turks & Caicos Yacht Club is located along Leeward, a 423 acre resort community on the Northeast tip of Providenciales. It is bordered to the east by the Leeward-Going-Thru channel and an internal canal system that serves the area’s home sites.  With the addition of Turks &Caicos Yacht Club, Provo is now an easily accessible paradise for the mega yachting and luxury lifestyle that accommodates vessels up to 200 feet in length.

Surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches, Provo has been ranked "Best Beach" by Conde' Nast magazine and by the World Travel Awards for several years running. On the north shore of the island, near Grace Bay, you will find the most beautiful beaches, as well as a long coral reef, which is rich in aquatic life.

The ever-increasing popularity of Provo isn't surprising. It's only a 75-minute flight from Miami or 3 ½ from NYC -- close enough to make it an even more appealing getaway from the East Coast (from L.A., it takes about seven). In addition, the currency is the U.S. dollar, crime is minimal, locals are friendly and everyone speaks English.

It’s also become a hot spot for star-gazing ...speaking of celebrities, of course.  The area islands were once a secret hideaway for the rich and famous…today it’s one of the hottest vacation spots to find the glitterati.

The 38-mile island features a multitude of protected areas including nature preserves, sanctuaries and historical sites plus a virtually unlimited array of ocean activities available year-round, with the average temperature ranging between about 80 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Provo is also home to an international airport, excellent beaches, fine restaurants, championship golf, spa and shopping, plus lots of opportunities for discovery, adventure or relaxation on land and sea.
